Bullet Time - Concept and Ideas
Working from the theme of "Unexpectedly Opposite", the group discussed a variety of ideas before settling on the concept of playing as a controllable bullet, navigating through obstacles in the scene to hit the target. Players take control of each bullet fired by a hitman inside a Mafia base, attempting to eliminate primary targets while achieving various goals along the way.
As well as controlling the trajectory of the bullet, players can control the flow of time, speeding up or slowing down as a means of achieving greater precision and hopefully providing fairly unique gameplay.
“As you explode from the darkness of the barrel to the brightness of the room, you quickly establish a course to your target. Now, can you follow it?”
Each level provides a unique scenario within the gangsters' base, with a primary target which needs to be hit to complete the level as well as other, optional targets as well to boost the player's score. Levels are replayable and selectable, with the top three scores for each level recorded in the high score table.
The group are hopeful that we can produce a fun, playable game in the time available.
